At Creating Peace with Food, LLC we value giving back to our community and globally. We regularly tithe to local charitable organizations and now we are looking to expand our mission. This month we have launched two new giving campaigns.
The first is called Products, a new feature on our website where you can purchase any resources we recommend for you through Amazon. They will award us a small kickback from your purchases that we in turn will be passing along to foundations helping to raise awareness, do research and provide resources for eating disorders and child hunger.
The second campaign is called Food for Hope. I was inspired to get involved with Food for Hope after reading Amanda Lindhout’s memoir- A House in the Sky. Soon after her release from 15 months in captivity she started the Global Enrichment Foundation. Food for Hope is a small but vital part to the larger mission of the GEF and directly in line with some of the core values we hold here at CPF.
Food for Hope is a school-based food aid program that supports over 800 young students attending Waqaf-Dhiblawe School outside of Somalia’s war-torn capital, Mogadishu. It is akin to the School Nutrition Association of the USA only without government funding or support. That is where we come in.
This school needs to raise $127,000 to feed these children through-out the course of a school year. I don’t think I, alone, can raise this much money, however I have set a smaller goal of helping this organization raise $5000 by the end of the summer.
As part of my regular tithing, I am committing to sharing a part of my earnings with Food for Hope. Help me feed 25 children for a whole year. This relatively small $5000 sum from all of us will help Food for Hope raise the $127,000 more they need to feed all of the children. Join me! And thank you.
