How Can I Help?
INDIVIDUAL CLIENTS – I am passionate about helping people untangle from the oppressive narratives of diet culture and strengthen their intuitive wisdom to feel connected with their bodies, eating and greater well being. My approach is informed by Liberation Psychology, Acceptance & Commitment Therapy, Health At Every Size, Responsive Feeding Therapy & Intuitive Eating.
PARENT COACHING – I’m an eating disorder and pediatric dietitian committed to helping grownups feel confident about feeding themselves and their families. I believe in taking a collaborative approach to helping clients reach their goals. I am passionate about supporting families with neurodivergent (ADHD/ASD/SPD) children and have additional training is helping children with the PDA subtype (pathological demand avoidance/persistent drive for autonomy) and ARFID (avoidant restrictive food intake disorder).
BRAINSPOTTING INTENSIVES – Our bodies and brains hold onto experiences in ways that are not always fully accessible through conscious thought or words. Brainspotting is a body-based therapy approach that uses your visual field and dual attunement of your and my nervous systems to access and process experiences that may feel difficult to overcome through talking alone. It is typical for significant relief and healing to occur in a much faster time period than traditional talk therapy sessions.
I became interested in Brainspotting after several clients with AudHD, complex medical conditions and complex trauma histories consistently shared feedback about the impact Brainspotting had on relieving symptoms and expanding their threshold of nervous system regulation. I was able to see how quickly their relationship to their body image shifted in positive ways and how much easier it was for them to engage in eating recovery when no longer paralyzed by shame and chronic pain.
Brainspotting Intensives offer extended intentional time to work with 1 or more of the experiences that are keeping you stuck such as (but not at all limited to) anxiety about body size and gender, shame about eating habits and impact on “health”, fear about eating with others or in public. and decision paralysis and overwhelm about food choices. Brainspotting Intensives are also an excellent therapeutic accommodation for clients with disconnected interoceptive awareness that makes it difficult to be mindful of and/or verbalize effectively emotional and physical sensations for any reason such as neurodivergence, chronic pain, sleep disorders, OCD, and complex trauma.
Each intensive begins with a 55-minute intake session, where we identify what you would like to work on, discuss what to expect, answer questions and schedule your intensive. The intensive itself is approximately 3 hours and includes a 15-minute check-in, dedicated Brainspotting time, and breaks as needed and agreed upon throughout our time together. The intensive wraps up with 20–30 minutes of discussion & care planning. Brainspotting Intensives are available as 1-day or 2-day options. Insurance does not cover intensives and full payment will be collected during your intake session. This is the only service I provide that is offered to tweens, teens and adults, including clients with ARFID and PDA profiles of neurodivergence.
CLINICAL SUPERVISION – I provide supervision to all medical and mental health providers. I use an approach called Reflective Supervision to support supervisees seeking to expand their expertise, knowledgebase and experience working with clients through a HAES/fat-positive, liberation focused lens. I am an approved iaedp Supervisor and can help you with certification if you are a dietitian or mental health professional and that is something you are interested in.
